Every actor needs a showcase, so he wrote one

Every actor needs a showcase, that one performance which presents their skills in the best possible light. Paul Connolly wrote this show – his first solo show – to be just that. Witness the culmination of over 10 years of acting and improvised comedy performance experience as Paul brings together nearly everything he can do on stage in a series of new sketches: character comedy, singing, dancing, physical theatre, and more. Experience this high energy show filled with comedy, heart and theatrics. The Paul Connolly Showcase uniquely captures the full acting ability of its star, celebrating the accumulated performance skills from his acting journey so far, whilst also giving a glimpse of the next chapter to come.

Press Release

The Director – Work At Home (Film, Comedy)

“Today is a good day to create art!” proclaims The Director before starting his day. Prepared to create yet another “perfect masterpiece”, he soon discovers problems with his creative flow. What is the source of this problem, and will he be able to overcome it and create great art?

Featuring a selection of Paul Connolly’s characters, this tongue-in-cheek, fun and silly comedy explores the difficulties those in the creative industries have in creating art — and productivity when trying to do work at home — in a surreal world featuring 1980s Doctor Who level “special effects”.

Filmed in his apartment during the start of the lockdown in 2020, this film was both a way for Paul to stay creative when his industry shutdown, while also debuting his writing, directing and filmwork skills.
